The first Russian electronic photogallery HOT PICTURES presents the works of artists who use photography. The spectre of presented works is rather wide -- starting from straight photography to computer-processed images. Also the exhibition includes the works documenting artistic activity, the photography based painting, etc. The age of artists and their popularity also vary in a wide range.

Such different works were united by this collection in order to try to bring more transparency to the artificial borders remaining between "painting", "photography", "computer graphics", etc., and to overcome the stereotype that experience and popularity of an artist influences too much the impressions on his works. The fact that all exhibited works were created using photography is not accidental. It was the appearance and development of photography that provided for revolutionary changes in the visual image of the world.

Photography for the long time seemed to be the only credible method for reality reflection. But the development of the computer technologies had put this postulate on trial. So photography which in its time had changed all fine arts now is changing itself. Electronic photo gallery is not only the presentation of specific artists and works, but also an attempt to research and visualize the described phenomena.
